I went to the dealership to pick up prepurchase d parts Saturday morning, and had to wait for the sales guys to unlock things. While I was waiting, I noticed something odd on one of the weekday salesman’s desk.

Kinja'd!!!

His wedding ring sitting in his inbox. I’m imagining he had weekend activities that necessitated leaving that behind.

So what's your guess? What gets the wedding ring relegated to the inbox for the weekend?

Wonder if he just took it off and it got lost, someone found it and put it there.

Yabut Mitsu salesman. Probably not wrenching.

This is a very probable but very un-fun scenario. Where's the sizzle?

I take my ring off if I’m riding bikes or wrenching but I bet he was doing neither.

Just watched an AvE video and noticed he wrapped his ring (still on his finger ) with clear packing tape before doing something or other.  I guess that’s good enough?

some folks can’t remove their rings, wrapping is certainly better than nothing

My wife and I went to visit my parents at their vacation house a couple weekends ago. It’s about a 2 hour drive or more depending on Bay Bridge traffic. With about 30-40 minutes left in the drive, I looked down at my left hand on the steering wheel, noticed my wedding ring wasn’t there, and said to my wife, “oh shit, I forgot my wedding ring!”

I paused slightly after saying “oh shit,” and my wife responded, “oh good, when you said ‘oh shit’ I thought you were going to say you forgot something important!”

This is why I love the silicone rings my wife bought me, zero risk for damaging my ring, no risk of the ring falling off when I take my gloves off/on. Wearing my actual ring when we go out instead.

Not actually married and wears the ring for better sales.  (More approachable, family man, etc...)

Only place I ever lost my wedding ring was on my actual wedding day, in a TSA bin at the airport, after having worn it for all of two hours.

These days I pretty much never take it off.

I lost my first one playing indoor paintball . Put it in my pocket while sliding around on paint soaked carpet. It vanished somewhere.

I'm also a lot more careful about where and when it comes off, but it's off frequently for wrenching or heavy manual labor.

Should’ve taken it and left a note stating where it is now hidden.

When I first got married I’d usually take my ring off when I got to work because I just don’t like wearing jewelry, but wore it occasionally because newlywed. Now I just don’t wear it at all. Took my wife a while to get used to that but she seems fine with it now. I keep meaning to get a silicone ring, but never actually get around to it. A few of my friends have actually gotten small tattoos which isn’t a terrible idea.

It’s not in the drawer for the weekend. It’s in the drawer permanently.

He ran off with a young woman who he sold an Eclipse to for $ 2k under invoice.

I tried getting the tattoo idea past my wife, but she doesn't like it. IDK why.

Mine wouldn’t like it either, she just doesn’t like tattoos at all.

I wore mine all the time for the first couple years, despite the degloving risk. It was the only jewelery I'd ever worn. Drove me nuts, but I got used to it. I stopped wearing it except for special occasions after a couple years. Now that I'm out of the habit, it drives me more nuts to wear it than ever before, so I just don't wear it. My wife was uncomfortable about it at first, but also not anymore. I may not have a ring on, but everything about me reads married dad. Nobody is making any moves on me, nor the other way around.

My wife has several tattoos. I have none. I floated the tattoo idea to her, as it's the only one I would consider getting, but she thinks it's trashy.

Hmm I work with a few guys who are always taking them off and leaving them around while they’re on the phone, let’s hope that’s all this is.

Mine is carbon fiber and I have lost weight since the wedding. It’s so light that it’s barely noticeable to begin with, and it just flies off if I don’t keep running a thin strip of electrical tape around the inside to “resize” it. Luckily I have a big piece of the car it was made from left to make another if I was to lose it.
